Reasons I would ever join the military

In Scotland it is not mandatory to serve in the military but if I had to serve in the military then I would do it for the following reasons
1) If my country was in war then I would join for country pride
2) You can learn self defence
3) If I didn't have money for education and Scotland gave a G I Bill to the soldiers then I would alsoo be persuaded to join the military
